Setting Up Your #LittleSummerJOY Book

Hi friends! So next week, on Monday, we have a pre-planning post coming out with a conversation on planning your summer and setting up your Little Summer JOY book. But with SO many of you excited to dive into this project, we thought it would help for us to give you a little preview of how we’re organizing our Traveler’s Notebooks for this project.

#LittleSummerJOY Traveler's Notebook | How to Organize Your Project

Why We Organize Our Books

Last year one of my biggest struggles with creating and maintaining my traveler’s notebook was not knowing where to put the content. Part of that was because some of the content was happening in real time (the bullet journaling) and some of it was being created after I had a chance to do a prompt (later that week, or sometimes weeks later).

You see, you never know when inspiration is going to strike. When a moment is going to be meaningful. When the time is right to bring a story to life on paper.

When you’re moving forward and backward in time like that, it can be hard to know where to put the experiences you want to document and, more importantly, it can be hard to come up with ideas for how to use all, or most, of the pages in your book.

The result is a halfway used, somewhat difficult to follow, book.

And my inner organizer just can’t handle that. 🙂

But, more importantly, I think there is a way to create this book into an album that you truly want to flip through. And by committing to a bit of organization in the beginning, you can set yourself up to create a gorgeous page-turner that truly captures the essence of your summer.
